    for some reason the new impreza front fascia kinda looks like a chevy cruze :/

    @sdlausen Even if you take the badge out of the equation the Z4 and S2000 are two completely different cars. The Z4 is a more comfortable and luxurious and capable in bad weather (because of the hardtop) car with a sporty feel whereas the S2000 is a high revving performance car (for its class) however it is very difficult to get the most out of it in city driving (where people drive most of the time) because you can not constantly rev it to the maximum.

    Why anyone would buy a Z4 is beyond me. A used Honda s2000 is so much better in every category.

    The optional large tail spoiler is a MUST if you’re getting the new Impreza. I look so much better with it.

    the 2012 Impreza is really disappointing, just checked the dealers around where I live, all their 2011 models are sold out, ALL OF THEM, just like what I thought, nobody wants the new one.

    @DewottFan63 Yeah. The current gen Imprezas looked all right with the blacked out grilles, or the STI-grilles. But… I don’t get why this car has to look like a small Legacy now. It’s just kind of weird. Doesn’t look like it would translate to a sporty WRX or STi version either.

    oh cool video

    A note to make attention to is that Subaru is splitting the WRX brand from the Impreza, which does not launch until 2014, therefore the softening of the Impreza fits into this timeline perfectly. The WRX will use and overhaul the Impreza as their own, therefore I am not surprised if the AWD FT-86 project is passed to WRX to handle.

    @DewottFan63
    Reason behind that is that Subaru (or maybe Fuji Heavy Industry) concluded that extra development costs other than drivetrain and engine will be too much for Subaru to bear, that is why you will never see an AWD version of the FT-86 or a dramatic styling change to match Subaru’s current / future design DNA.

    That said, Toyota screwed Subaru over by introducing the FT-86 as a Scion FRS outside of Japan (as the original agreement was Toyota will brand it as Toyota in Japan only).

    oh bother I really much enjoyed the raptor :(

    @DewottFan63 I agree. It made no sense to turn the Impreza into a baby Legacy. The current gen kind of looked like crap. They looked great in the first and second generations. Then they just pooped on them.

    its much like the Legacy with the introduction of Impreza (same applies to Galant and Lancer) where the Legacy became softer and aimed less at rally-inspired performance for more creature comfort and city driving while the Impreza would replace the Legacy for the sports hatch-sedan. I think with the softening of the Impreza may mean a smaller much aggressive car may be in the planning.

    That or they’re banking on their FT-86 offshoot. (though IMO RWD should not replace AWD).
