Buy Boxter, add Switzer kit for ~10K$ and you have faster, prettier car than 911 for much less money…

this is the first porsche to win me over and give in to that sexy look.

All you 911 snobs need to wake up and smell the performance.. the Boxster/Cayman is a superior platform. The Cayman S ran an identical time at VIR as the Carrera S (both with the new PDK) despite a 60 HP power deficit! I own a 2006 911 S but had a Boxster S before… I will likely go for a Cayman S next go-round if they keep upping the power.

The weather doesn’t stop british people from buying cabrios. (most of the cabrios in Europe are sold in the UK!^^)

This rocketship is very cheap too,
a mere $80k with an ipod adapter.

that’s cool! i’d have one but i think it’s gonna be owned exclusively by chavs or football players. 911 all the way

What’s the point of this car?
The only selling point of the Boxster is, that it’s a luxurious roadster.

If you want a stripped down roadster, a Lotus Elise SC is 400kg lighter, faster and significantly cheaper ($6000 in the USA, 12000€ in Germany – funny how the Boxster is that much more expensive in it’s country of origin)

And the Lotus comes with cupholders and a radio 🙂

The Boxster Spyder is only here for marketing purposes.

can someone please explain what makes it a Spyder as opposed to just a convertible? thanks

btw, yes, i can see the thing behind the seats, don’t point out the obvious

Give me the keys… just love the wave-thing behind the seats…

looks like its meant to replicate just that. Notice in the very beginning the old-school effect. This car is supposed to take after the old 550 Spyder.

i hope they would make something radical with the design of their cars.

outside, they almost look the same except for the trained eye.

wow those humps behing the head rests…hot like carrera GT

  20. Anonymous says:

its a baby GT, how fucking cool.
automatic roof would have been good. not designed for the english weather lol

wauw! The rear end is just awesome !!!!

  22. Anonymous says:

    this car is awesome!

Yeah, you’re basically getting a bit of tarpaulin to stretch over your head, which is only “suitable” for low speeds. Where I live it pisses rain 24/7 so I think I’ll hang on to my standard Boxster.

Not convinced the performance advantage over the “S” is worth the impracticality. Think those humps look a bit silly too, if I’m honest. But I suppose that’s a subjective issue.

  24. Anonymous says:

I like the fact that you are getting less car (no automatic roof) for more money (not!) Same with the Cayman/Boxster. Normal manufacturers charge more for the convertible, not visa versa…..

THIS is what they had in mind when they made the old 914!!
