    Re double de clutch…these had syncromesh in all forward gears so no you shouldnt need to do that. However the synchro is slow and many are getting worn or weak and it will help the life of the trans to double de clutch on the downshift. You just cannot rush the change.

    They are to opeerate the heater on early 911

    actually the turbo wing was available as a “sport” option from the factory, including on narrow-body cars : this wing always came together with the front lip/spoiler to maintain aerodynamic balance.

    Just bought my first Porsche.A 911sc Cabriolet 1983 Grand Prix White.I cannot believe it has taken me so long to buy a classic Porsche.These cars are unbelievable with amazing handling,huge amounts of power and that classic 911 sound.The best car I have ever driven!!!.

    Mapleneckguitar, you could get a SC, a 944 turbo and have some $ to mod it, a boxter, or even a 996

    – I owned several 911
    and 944 from the late 60es on to the late 80es, but as an entry level car I’d suggest a Boxter 2,7 / 3,2 –
    Not so charming but beware,time goes by
    and I’m not just talking about reliability :
    the whole performance is not even to be compared: steering.gearbox,brakes,set up,handling overall are a few steps beyond.
    Hope you’ll find a good buy.
