i personally didn’t really like the exterior of the previous boxster models but the ’09 facelifted one just rocks 🙂

Morons who bash the Boxster/Cayman are mostly guys who have never even driven these cars and are talking shit from their magazine test drive experiences.

Having owned a Cayman S and the wife drives the 997 Carrera S; I would say both the Boxster and Cayman have more than proved themselves as razor sharp sports car if not in some respects better balanced than the 911.
So to “generalize” and say, the Boxster is a girlie car, and the only reason why anyone would buy a Cayman is because you can’t afford a 911 is just pure bullshit. Btw which Porsche do you drive?

plus the value of a new corvette wont go down as fast as a boxter 😛

Corvette and Z4 don’t look nearly as good as the boxster.

You am right. The loss of comfort for just 80kg is ridiculous and I don’t know how this could have happened (*), when I add upp all whats missing.

Better save the difference, buy a used post 2009 S and if you think it has not enough power, do an upgrade by TTP
(*) well actually I have an Idea, and its an old observation. The company always preserves the “superiority” of the 911

I didn’t mean any disrespect to Boxster owners. I think Boxsters are great cars. Having dual trunks is awesome and I’ve heard they have phenomenal balance and handling. I just don’t see how Porsche can justify an $80k price tag. Of course, it is the closest thing to a track-ready Boxster you can find. I’d say forgo the Spyder and just get the Boxster S. The S has nearly the same level of performance with a more usable top and cost lots less.

All very different car concepts, all good in certain ways, so not really comparable and each may be the exact car that ideal for a certain person. There is cheap plastic in the trunks, too, which I found very annoying, but I still think the Boxster is the best car for my needs.

I just went to the Porsche website… for a Porsche Boxster Spyder with the Touring Package…. drum roll please…

    Base price: $61,800

    Destination Charge: $950
    Total Price:* $80,295

And I did NO configurations of my own.

    its CAD $

At about 2:00 the Joe Wiesenfielder (the reviewer) states that this particular trim level costs about $79k. No Boxster is worth $79k regardless of options or trim level.

  16. Anonymous says:

$79k for a car like that. Porsche are relying too much on their brand image

  17. Anonymous says:

the boxster starts at aorund $39-41k…where did you get $80k from

  18. Anonymous says:

    I’m looking at a 03 Boxser S tomorrow. It’s going for 13K$. If it’s clean i’ll get it.

  19. Anonymous says:

i’d rather have plastic than metal…not as heavy

    I’ll live in that shit

  21. Anonymous says:

I refer to the base 911 cabriolet, which is the only fair comparison.

  22. Anonymous says:

Wrong? The Boxster S has similar performance figures to the base 911. What’s more, it is mid-engined and is cheaper. Why is it wrong? Inverse snobbery on your part?
